About Rounding Third
Welcome to the home base of Rounding Third, a Blog and Podcast hosted by Muneesh Jain. In May of 2013 Muneesh will embark on a tour of all 30 Major League Baseball stadiums interviewing fans and the men and women who work behind the scenes to make your home team's ballpark special. The memories and lifelong bonds that are created in the stands are what unites us as baseball fans. No matter your team allegiance, we all have a story to tell. What’s yours?
Muneesh successfully completed his 30-stadium MLB tour and is now in the process of writing a book about his journey across North America. For up-to-date information on what is coming up, please sign up for our mailing list and follow Muneesh on twitter @RoundingThirdMJ. In the mean time, please explore this site for write ups, photos, stats and the podcast from Muneesh's epic baseball odyssey. The tour may be over, but there is still plenty more to come!
About Muneesh Jain
I have been a passionate sports fan for as long as I can remember. I played every sport I had time for when I was a kid and my first job was covering sports for ESPN. During my time at the network, I produced remote segments for Sportscenter, ESPNNews, NFL Live as well as several ESPN radio affiliates.
While ESPN was a dream job, being a Michigan native I always had a soft spot for the city of Detroit and wanted to give something back. I launched a sports magazine in the Motor City that would cover high school, college and professional sports for the state of Michigan. As publisher of Motor City Sports Magazine I reached 40,000 sports fans every month for three years with the help of a tremendous staff of writers, photographers, sales reps and interns (see photos below). Highlights of my time with MCS Magazine include covering Super Bowl XL in Detroit, the Tigers' magical 2006 World Series run, interviewing members of the Detroit sports community and giving the residents of Michigan a positive destination for their hometown heroes. After nearly four years running MCS Magazine I decided it was time to move on.
I spent the next several years working in the film industry developing scripts and producing short films. However, as much as I enjoy the cinema, my true love has always been baseball.
After years away I realized that it was time for me to come home. What better way for me to reconnect with the game that I love than to dedicate one summer to visiting all 30 stadiums? Thus the podcast was born. I want to find out what makes every stadium special. There are millions of stories out there about each park and I want to share as many of them as I can with you. Welcome to Rounding Third.
