I am starting to run on fumes. While I planned this trip over the past year, I estimated that I would drive 15,000 miles. I was wrong. After what should have been a four hour drive to Pittsburgh turned into six and a half, I realized that my initial guess was a bit off. As of today I have driven 15,442 miles and I still have three cities to go.
I have been primarily alone on the road for those 15,442 miles aside from the week my buddy Rindler joined me and the week my mom helped me out. I have enjoyed the solitude to a certain extent, as well as the companionship of some very funny podcasts, but after 80 days I am starting to go a little crazy. The prospect of exploring a new city and a new stadium is still more than enough to keep me going, and now that I can see the finish line I am starting to think about what I am going to do with myself when this is all over.

How Did This Get Made
Doing this tour has been a dream of mine since I was in grade school. I have met hundreds of people on the road who have told me that it is their dream as well. To be completely honest with you, I never really thought I would actually do it. It was always one of those pipe dreams that you mindlessly talk about with your buddies on rainy days. There are several posts on this site that discuss my process of putting this tour together, but the one thing I do not believe I have mentioned is that the idea to finally embark on this journey happened in an instant. I was in the shower (where I get 100% of my best ideas) when a light just turned on inside my head and in that moment I decided that I was going to visit all 30 stadiums in one summer.
The moment I stepped out of the shower I had already begun to plan the trip. After years of casually throwing the idea out there, I simply decided to actually do it. There was no build up, there was no discussion with friends or family, I did not sit there and think about the millions of reasons I could not do this. In one glorious moment I came up with the idea and one second later it was as if I had been planning it my entire life. Of course I did include my friends and family in the planning process to get their advice, but nobody was going to talk me out of doing this tour. I do not mean to get too contemplative with you, but these are the thoughts that run through my head as I look out over the horizon alone on the road.
