This is my last off day. I am staying with some family friends in Boston and they are out of town for Labor Day weekend. I have been running on pure adrenaline virtually all summer and my body is ready to break down. I have one more day to go, I just need to stay on my feet a little while longer.

I had initially booked an extra day in Toronto just in case it rained and the roof remained closed. As the sun ended up making a welcome appearance during yesterday's game, I decided against attending another game at the Rogers Centre and took a trip to the CN Tower instead. I met some nice baseball fans on my way up to the observation deck and ended up chatting with them for about two hours high atop the city of Toronto.

With only a couple of more days left on this tour, I figured that I would take this opportunity to let you know what I am planning to do next season and beyond. This 30-stadium tour is just the beginning.

Rather than take in another Pirates game I decided to stay in and get some writing done. This turned out to be the right decision. Although I have not yet experienced an extra innings game on this tour yet, I was happy to see the Pirates game go 16 innings in the rain today while I sat comfortably inside my hosts' home in the suburbs. For those of you who are interested, I will outline how I lost 45 pounds in four months in preparation for this tour, and how I have kept it off while on the road. This will be broken down in the next three off day posts.

Two days off in a row. I don't know what to do with myself! This is going to be another short one today. I got a little bit of work done today (writing, recording and editing) before I left Chris and Michelle’s place. As much as I would have loved to stay with them longer, I have a couple of other friends to catch up with that I have not seen in many years.

When I came up with the schedule for this tour I purposely included an extra couple of days in Detroit to meet with friends and family. As I type this I realize that I have not actually had a real “off day” in nearly three weeks. Every day since Seattle has included either a travel day or a ball game. In an effort to not run out of steam so close to the finish line, I elected to have a nice lazy day while hanging around the house in my sweatpants.

With Louisville, Kentucky around the corner from Cincinnati I could not pass up the opportunity to visit the Louisville Slugger Factory. I made the hour and a half drive south and took a tour of the museum which was more fun than I had anticipated. Unfortunately I was not able to take any pictures inside the factory, so for those of you who are interested you will just have to make the trip here yourself.

Ladies and gentlemen, my mother has arrived. This is absolute lunacy. There are no words to describe how amazing she is. A mere 48 hours ago I was reclined in my car, alone at a rest stop off of I-5 N, after vomiting out of the driver side door. Today the woman who brought me into this world flew from Kalamazoo, MI to Seattle, WA to help me drive back to Los Angeles. I am going to stop writing for a moment now and let that sink in.

I am combining the posts for the All-Star break so I can try and catch up. I am in Los Angeles for the next couple of days and need to recharge my batteries. I have been on the road now for 51 days and driven over 8,500 miles. In the past seven weeks I have attended 20 games in 16 different stadiums. I am currently two games under .500 with a 9-11 home team record. I am exhausted. I am sore. I am delirious. I am having the best time I have ever had in my entire life.

I dropped off Rindler at the airport this morning and headed back to my friend's house in Fremont. I originally planned on going to the final game in the Red Sox/A's series today, but I decided that I needed a little rest. When I got back to the house, I found that my dirty clothes were in the process of being laundered. I am continually amazed at the kindness of the people in my life.

Today was a different type of off-day. Rindler and I decided to do the AT&T Park tour after seeing the game. Rindler has done a couple of tours with me, but since they were all on game days we were not able to go into the clubhouses. With the Giants starting a road trip today we had the opportunity to do the full tour of the stadium.

For those of you reading this in Denver, or anyone who is a fan of Colorado sports, leave my site immediately and head over to milehighsports.com and subscribe to the best magazine about rocky mountain sports on the planet. I am serious. If you are still reading this right now and have not yet subscribed to MHS I will be very disappointed in you.

I have been living on the road for one month now. I wrote about how I came up with the schedule on a previous Off Day post, so today I will explain how I have set up the lodging accommodations thus far.

For the first time on the tour I have back-to-back off days. I didn't realize how tired I was until I set up a massage at a place called Blossom Massage. I was in desperate need of a massage as my back was still in a tremendous amount of pain after Kansas City. I met a wonderful massage therapist named Jessica who really worked out my muscles and stretched me out perfectly.

After yesterday's marathon driving session I slept in today. Last night I was thinking about my schedule and I realized that I don't really have “weekends” anymore. My off days are generally taken up by writing these posts, recording the podcasts and researching the cities that I am in for things like food, massages and laundry services. When I planned this tour I gave myself an extra 24 hours in each city in case of rain outs, but I am really beginning to wish I had more time. If I were ever to do this tour again I most certainly would give myself more time in each city to explore.

Today was a day that I wish I could get back. I worked out in the morning and pulled something in my back. My original plans included checking out the Negro League Museum, but I was forced to stay in bed for most of the day. It did give me a chance to do my laundry and catch up on some blog posts, but I am going to have to make it back here some day soon so that I can learn more about the history of Negro League baseball.

No game today and no travel. I spent most of the day relaxing and running some errands. I went to Whole Foods to pick up some more supplies for the road. In the evening I went to meet my friend Noah, his wife Jen and their two beautiful boys Liam and Hudson.

After yesterday's huge mistake the first thing I did this morning was eat a big breakfast. I decided that for the rest of the tour I am going to eat whatever I want. If I need to get back into shape in September I will deal with it then.
