Houston bound

Day #25 - Travel from Kansas City to Houston

Muneesh Jain June 22, 2013

Welcome to Texas

Another long drive today.  I spent nearly 12 hours in the car driving from Kansas City to Houston  I had originally scheduled myself two days to make this trip, but my time at Kauffman Stadium energized me to the point where I was able to make the trip in one shot.

Leaving KC

What I listened to in the car:

Doug Loves Movies

Indoor Kids

Who Charted

Music

Red Sox/Tigers game

With the Tigers playing late into the evening, the last three hours of the drive went by relatively fast.  These long drives have not been as big of an issue as I had anticipated.  The only thing that I am regretting is that I do not have more time to explore both in the cities where I am staying and the states that I am driving through. Each time I drive through a small town or see inviting billboards to local attractions on the highway I am tempted to pull over.  Although baseball is the driving motivator of this tour, experiencing as much of America as possible is an added bonus.  I am slowly making my way towards the West Coast where the terrain will begin to vary, but so far the drives been long and flat with not too much scenery

Who kept me awake while driving:

My sister Shikha

My buddy Rindler

My mom and dad

I got in to Houston around 10:30 PM.  During the drive I spoke to a friend of mine named Ryan Rindler who confirmed that he will be joining me for a two week stretch of the tour.  He is going to fly into Colorado and drive with me through the southwest.  I have some long drives coming up so this is going to be a big help.

Arriving in Houston

I have a couple of days off in a row thanks to coming in a day early. I plan on using some of these next couple of days to sleep and recharge.
