Ladies and gentlemen, my mother has arrived. This is absolute lunacy. There are no words to describe how amazing she is. A mere 48 hours ago I was reclined in my car, alone at a rest stop off of I-5 N, after vomiting out of the driver side door. Today the woman who brought me into this world flew from Kalamazoo, MI to Seattle, WA to help me drive back to Los Angeles. I am going to stop writing for a moment now and let that sink in.

My mom is here! Over the next week my mom and I are going to spend approximately 50 hours in a car together driving across the country. This was not planned and she was not prepared to do this. She dropped everything she was doing and flew across the entire country to help me continue my journey. I am the luckiest son on the planet.
I spent the majority of the day today sitting on the porch pictured above and writing. The house where I am staying in Bellevue, WA is a slice of paradise. I am actually feeling much better after the food poisoning debacle and probably could have managed the drives coming up alone; but having my mom drive with me and take care of me for a couple of days is too good of an offer to pass up. It has been almost twelve years since I lived with my parents and I do not get to spend nearly enough time with them these days. I will make up for lost time with at least one of my folks over the next couple of days.
