Two days off in a row. I don't know what to do with myself! This is going to be another short one today. I got a little bit of work done today (writing, recording and editing) before I left Chris and Michelle’s place. As much as I would have loved to stay with them longer, I have a couple of other friends to catch up with that I have not seen in many years.
I took full advantage of having a couple of days off and got a shave and a haircut as well as a massage. I did a little grocery shopping to replenish my reserves of grapes and blueberries and then made my way to the suburbs where I stayed with my friend Jessica and her husband Adam. Jessica and I went to high school together and has been one of my closest friends ever since. Jessica and Adam have two crazy adorable kids and I am genuinely sad that I could not spend more time with them. As a single man I sometimes forget that kids go to bed super early.
Jessica and Adam took me out to dinner to a place called Garage Grill. As much as I have been having the perfect baseball summer, one of the best byproducts of traveling the country is being able to reconnect with people that I have lost touch with over the years. Jessica and I stayed up late into the night catching up on each other's lives.
Having back-to-back days off felt like a mini-vacation, but now it is time to get back to work. Tomorrow will be the first time I enter Comerica Park in nearly six years. I can not wait.
