Public Enemy #1
I finished up my drive from DC today. It took me 15 hours and 30 minutes over two days to get down here. As I mentioned in yesterday's posting I was unaware of Tropical Storm Andrea while I was driving down and got caught in 4 hours of absolutely insane rainfall. The rain did not stop from the time I left Jacksonville to when I arrived in St. Petersburg. Luckily there were very few cars on the road so aside from squinting a lot, the drive down wasn't too bad.
This is my first stay in a hotel as I do not know anybody in the Tampa area. I was down here recently for Spring Training where I went to 10 stadiums in 10 days so I know the area relatively well. Upon arriving in St. Pete I immediately went to a restaurant called Seasons 52 which I had enjoyed during my Spring Training trip. The food there is amazing and relatively healthy.

I went to go check in to my hotel and when I pulled up to the lobby I saw several men in wearing Public Enemy jackets. I thought to myself how weird it was to see such a large group of people sporting Public Enemy gear in 2013 until this happened.
Flavor Flav was performing that night with LL Cool J in St. Pete and was staying at my hotel. I normally do not like bothering people for pictures however Flavor – Mr. Flav? – graciously posed for a shot with me so that I could share it with all of you.
This was a surreal ending to a long drive.
After chatting with the Flav-meister for a couple minutes I checked in to my hotel and caught up on some of my posts for the site. The weather was horrible all day so I stayed in and recorded a bit for the podcast and watched some baseball before turning in for the night.
