I am combining the posts for the All-Star break so I can try and catch up. I am in Los Angeles for the next couple of days and need to recharge my batteries. I have been on the road now for 51 days and driven over 8,500 miles. In the past seven weeks I have attended 20 games in 16 different stadiums. I am currently two games under .500 with a 9-11 home team record. I am exhausted. I am sore. I am delirious. I am having the best time I have ever had in my entire life.
As you can tell, I am currently as far away from the All-Star game as geographically possible here in the continental 48. I tried desperately to create a schedule that would allow me to be in NYC this week, but sadly it was not possible. I have been living in Manhattan for the past five years and as soon as I leave the ASG comes to my backyard. I had justified not being there by telling myself that I would attend several comedy clubs out in LA that I have wanted to check out for years, but upon arriving at my buddy Tree's place all I wanted to do was lay on his couch and sleep.
Waking up in a new city every 48-72 hours has been an interesting experience thus far, but for the moment I am enjoying being in the same area code for a couple of extra days. I will be crashing at Tree's for six days and five nights which is the longest stay I have in one place this entire summer.
The next 11 days are going to be tough. I have to drive over 4,000 miles to Seattle, back to LA and then to Minneapolis. I had planned on having a friend of mine join me but unfortunately it did not work out. If I can make it to Minnesota the rest of the driving for this tour will be a breeze. Wish me luck!
